Yep – Cider Slam peeps f’ing rocked it!
Special note to those that came a little unprepared for what this event holds – Sorry. Hopefully everyone left having had a good time and a good heart, knowing they helped raised funds and awareness for a very worthwhile cause, www.gloves-on.com
I’m especially sorry to the gals that felt we were wrong and irresponsible for having the racers “fund” our kids scavenger hunt by making one of the CP’s on the course consist of spending $1 at the corner store to bring back a piece of candy for it. I’ll try to consider your advise of having their parents pay for it, if they want their kids to do it, at next years event. Also, to this same gal, I’m sorry you got lost and found the map “utterly useless”. Our point was to make it very vague and force you to make your own routes. It wasn’t supposed to be a marked and set course. That’s why there were directional clues at the bottom of the map. I’ll try to be more clear about that for my future events. Please have fun at Warrior Dash. No knock on WD peeps…  anyone doing ANYTHING like this ROCKS. In all seriousness, know that there are very different formats for very different events. If you’re unclear of what the format is, ask.

MCB Notes
– Congrats again to all my athletes, sorry Mechelle – left you out, for having a great season. Many of you having completed one of the runs at the Detroit event. That being said, ladies running group is done for the season. Plan to pick it back up in the new year. Watch for updates
– Speaking of Detroit, I’d LOVE to do a Hart Plaza workout on Wednesday am. Thoughts? Too far? It seriously takes me 12 minutes to start my car at my house and park it on Jefferson, across from Hart Plaza. Nothing like being down there running along the water first thing in the am. Give me some feedback.
– This weeks schedule is posted on the blog, with W am being a tentative Detroit day. I’ll confirm the final location (WPE or River Front) with everyone by Tuesday.
– Something to tide you over til spring? Great event to check out – hopefully we’ll have a few MCB teams racing… 2012 Infiterra December Chill 7hr Sprint AR – (not live yet)

  1. My group, the Mudd Sluts, consisting of 3 guys and 2 girls, had a blast and we thank you for the hardworking put in. The fact hat we got lost made it even more challenging and fun. We will be back next year for the muddy watters trail series for sure.

  2. Sorry you had negative vibes this year at the Cider Slam. I did it last year and had a blast, only missed this year because of a stress fracture. Can’t wait for next year, keep up the good work!
